Hansal Mehta, director of Prateek Gandhi fame web series ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ is now coming with the second part of the scam series. Makers recently released the teaser of this series.
Titled ‘Scam 2003 – The Telgi Story’, the story of the 30,000 crore stamp scam in the year 2003 will be shown. This scam was done by Abdul Karim Telgi, who printed fake stamp papers. In the teaser, the makers have not revealed the face of the actor playing the role of Abdul Karim Telgi in the series. Manoj Bajpayee’s voice over is heard in its beginning. They are telling that such a big scam took place in 2003 that zeros fell short.
The series is based on the 2003 Telgi scam. In this scam, the story of Abdul Karim Telgi, who printed fake stamp papers, will be shown. Abdul started off as a vendor and worked in travel companies to pull off such a huge scam by using fake tickets. This scam spread in many states shocked the whole country.
The series will stream on the OTT platform Sony Live from 2 September. For the series, Hansal has taken inputs from journalist Sanjay Singh’s book Reporter’s Diary. It is directed by Hansal Mehta along with director Tushar Hiranandani. Tusshar has earlier directed Saand Ki Aankh.
