Bollywood Actor Randeep Hooda starrer film ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ is stuck in legal issue. The matter is related to the producers of the film. In this, Randeep Hooda and Anand Pandit of Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Sandeep Singh of Legend Studio are face to face.
If media reports are to be believed, Randeep has issued a notice on a trade website. In this notice, he claimed that his company Randeep Hooda Films is the sole owner of all the IP (Intellectual Property) rights of this biopic.
Along with this, Randeep has also sent a legal notice to Anand and Sandeep, in which he has canceled all the agreements made with both the producers. In this notice, Randeep’s lawyer KH Halai has mentioned 38 points.
Mahesh Manjrekar was about to direct the film when the makers reached to sign Randeep in the film. Manjrekar left the film midway, after which it was decided that Randeep would direct the film and co-writer the script.
Hooda had sent four notices to both the producers in November-December last year and in June and July this year. At the same time, the producers had claimed that Randeep had taken possession of the film’s footage from them without permission and was refusing to return it. Anand and Sandeep’s legal advisor Ravi Suryavanshi says that all the claims of Hooda are false and baseless. Both the producers had signed Randeep as the only actor in the film.
Now Randeep’s legal team has reacted to the matter. Talking about the same to Bollywood Hungama, the team said, “Randeep has written, produced and directed this biopic of Veer Savarkar under his banner. During this he faced financial, mental and physical challenges.
With full dedication, Hooda has overcome the difficulties faced in the making of the film with the aim of giving respect to the real character of the film. Attempts were made to harass him in many ways but he did not give up.
The film has been mired in controversy ever since its announcement. Earlier, when the trailer of the film was released, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s great grandson had objected to it. According to him, the makers have tampered with the facts in it.
The trailer of the film was released on the 140th birth anniversary of Veer Savarkar. Randeep left no stone unturned to get into the skin of this character. He did 26 kg weight loss for this. To do this, he followed a strict diet for 4 months. To make the character realistic, Randeep also shaved his hair.
Randeep Hooda is in the lead role in the film and he has also directed the film. This will be his directorial debut film. Ankita Laekhande and Amit Sial will also be seen in important roles in the film.
