Bollywood Actor Rajkumar Rao’s series ‘Guns and Roses’ is going to release on Netflix today. Recently during a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Rajkumar shared some interesting things related to this series. During the conversation, he also threw light on the part 2 of his superhit film ‘Stree’. Here are some key excerpts from the conversation:
How did you feel when you were offered the Guns N’ Roses series?
Was very happy that Raj and DK are making this series because both of them know this genre very well where they combine gangster, comedy, action comedy. I was sure that if these two mix so many genres and create something, it will be really different.
I remember when I read the script for the first time, my first reaction was how well the script was written. It was so much fun to read, so being a part of it will be a really fun experience. While reading the script, I remembered the songs of the 90s, that era.
How was the experience of working with Dulquer Salmaan?
I am a big fan of Dulquer Salmaan, I really like the kind of work he has chosen in his career so far. When I came to know that Dulquer will be my co-star in the film, I was very happy to hear because I wanted someone who has no sensitivity.
What is there, there are many actors who are either known only for comedy or action but this is not the case with Dulquer. I have seen his career graph, he has done different things, in different industries. I know he can take his character anywhere.
Any special experience related to the 90s?
Write a letter The letter is a very important part of our series. In the 90s, there were not many mobiles etc., so you used to write letters, I have also done that in real life. I have also written many letters, so yes, they remind me of my past days.
Also we used to go to the theater to watch movies. My parents always gave me permission. Even whenever I bunked college and went to watch a film, I used to go home speaking. Used to tell his mother, used to beat the official bunk. I have also bought tickets in black, which was a lot of fun.
Have you ever signed a film just for money?
I have never worked for money. Yes, many times such occasions came where people said that you do this, you will get money but I did not choose. Because it gives sleepless nights. I don’t want money that comes with bad intentions or in a bad way. I love my peaceful sleep. Whatever I got is fine for me.
Tell us about Stree 2?
Yes, the first schedule of ‘Stree 2’ has been completed. Nervousness is there because we also know that it is a big responsibility. There are many people who love this movie very much. We are making this with the same passion and love that we made earlier.
‘Stree’ is a good film, which has a loyal fan following. If a film of mine is good then I call it good and if it is bad then I accept that too. We are making that film very sincerely, without any baggage we have to make it a hit too. We didn’t make the first part just with the intention of earning money, this time also we are making this film while having fun, with complete simplicity.
How difficult was it to get into an old character after 5 years?
It is challenging because you played that character 5 years back. To get into that character again, I am watching that movie again, 2-3 times. A gap of 5 years is a long gap, in the meantime you have played many characters, so it is not so easy to get into that character again.
