According to some media reports, till now Jailer has earned more than ₹ 122 crores from worldwide in advance booking. The worldwide craze of Rajinikanth’s film can be gauged from the fact that two big Bollywood films, Gadar-2 and OMG-2, are also releasing on August 11, but the advance booking of Jailor is many times higher than both these films. Before the release of Rajinikanth’s film, his fans start applying to take a day off from the office, so that they can watch the first day first show. This trend was also seen during Rajini’s previous films Kabali, Kaala and 2.0 and now the same trend is being seen for Jailer as well.

In Chennai and Bangalore, on August 10, many companies have declared a holiday in their offices. A Madurai-based company named Uno Aqua Care has issued a holiday notice on August 10 on August 2 at its centers located in Chennai, Bengaluru, Trichy, Tirunelveli, Chengalpattu, Mattuthavani, Arapalayam, Alagappan Nagar. It reads, ‘Superstar Rajni’s film Jailor is releasing on August 10 and we have declared a holiday on this day. We will go a step ahead and give free movie tickets to our employees to promote anti-piracy.

Apart from this, Salem Survey Group, a digital survey firm, has also distributed free movie tickets along with the holiday at its centers in Chennai, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Goa, Mumbai and Odisha.

Jailor is estimated to get an opening of 25 to 30 crores in India. Worldwide its first day earnings can be 60 to 65 crores. According to trade expert Ramesh Bala, the advance booking of the film is showing very good signs. Rajinikanth’s fan base is such that he is loved by everyone from a 6-year-old child to a 60-year-old. His previous film Annathe was not liked by the people, but the urban flavor of Jailer will be liked by the audience. The songs of the film are hits. Kavala song has got 107 million views on YouTube itself.
