Veteran Kannada film actor Bengali Shama Rao Dwarkanath has passed away at the age of 81. He was famous by the name of Dwarkish. He breathed his last after suffering a heart attack on Tuesday. There is an atmosphere of sadness in the industry after his demise. Many stars are mourning his death. Now Prime Minister Narendra Modi also shared the post and expressed grief over the demise of Dwarkish and paid tribute to him.
PM Modi expressed heartfelt condolences on the demise of famous Kannada actor and producer and director Dwarakish. His ability to captivate audiences and support young talent reflected his multifaceted role in shaping Kannada cinema. Saddened by his demise. Dwarkish was born in Hunsur in Suru district. He was famous for comic roles in films. He acted in about 100 films and worked as a director and producer in about 50 of them. His comic roles in films like Mayor Muthanna, Bhakta Kumbhara and Guru Shishyaru endeared him to the audience. As a producer he achieved major success with the film Mayor Muthanna starring Kannada icon Dr. Rajkumar and Bharathi. Dwarakish also introduced famous Hindi playback singer Kishore Kumar to the Kannada film industry with the song ‘Aadu Aata Aadu’.
Many politicians along with PM Modi have paid tribute to him on his demise. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said that Dwarakish used to bring life to the characters as a comedian, hero and supporting actor. Meanwhile, former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy said that his service to the Kannada film industry not only as an artiste but also as a producer and director is unforgettable. BJP state president and Shikaripura MLA BY Vijayendra and former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai also expressed grief over his demise.
