Bollywood Actor Salman Khan’s film Bajrangi Bhaijaan has completed 8 years of its release. This film was released on 17 July 2015. After working in action films like Dabangg and Wanted, Salman Khan played an emotional role in Bajrangi Bhaijaan. In the film, Salman is ready to do anything to help a girl child.

Kareena Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Harshaali Malhotra worked with Salman Khan in this film. In the film, Salman is ready to go all the way to Pakistan to take 8-year-old Munni back to her family.

On the occasion of the 8th anniversary of the film, Salman Khan Films has shared a video related to Bajrangi Bhaijaan on social media. The production house has written in the caption – Today we are celebrating 8 years of the release of a film that united people living across the border.

The film’s director Kabir Khan had also given political statements about the film before its release. Talking to Indian Express, Kabir Khan had said that he believes in unity and secularism. He had also told that his parents had an inter-religious marriage, so he has seen both Hindu-Muslim religions closely while growing up and he respects both. He also said that he cast Salman Khan in this film because he wanted to spread the message of secularism in the society with the help of his stardom.

While talking to Indian Express, Kabir Khan had said – People associated with the right wing only want to establish their authority over Bajrangbali? I played the role of Lord Hanuman in a play in school. It saddens me to see how intolerant we are becoming day by day. Why can’t a Muslim say Jai Shree Ram or a Hindu can’t say Assalamualaikum? Will I become less Muslim if I say Jai Shri Ram?

Kabir Khan had further said- If the spirit of harmony in our country ends, then we cannot develop. Thinking this, I tried to find a way out of the ongoing disputes between Hindu-Muslims in my film. I needed a hero like Salman Khan to say this because he also believes in the idea of secularism, so he immediately agreed to do the film.

Kabir Khan had also told that he had to face challenges to keep the title of the film as Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He told that Vishwa Hindu Parishad had objected to the title of the film and also sent letters to him to change it. I explained to him that India is the only place where you can give this title to a film. I didn’t want the right wing people to consider Hanuman as their monopoly, so I didn’t agree to change the title of the film.
