The film won the Best Film award at the 9th edition of the Toulouse Film Festival after being nominated among fifteen other films from all languages across India.

The award was received by the film’s co-producer Yogesh Ishwar Dhabuwala. During this, he said that ’12th Fail’ is an honest film, made with all the right intentions and emotions, as the audience takes a meaningful message back home with them. The film recently completed 25 weeks in theaters and is now all set to release in China as well.

This film by Vidhu Vinod Chopra is based on the book of the same name written by Anurag Pathak, in which the true story of Indian Police Service officer Manoj Kumar Sharma rising from extreme poverty to become an IPS officer is shown.

The film shows the struggles of Manoj Sharma and the importance of his IRS officer wife Shraddha Joshi in his life. 12th Fail, one of the hit films of last year, had earned around Rs 60 crore. Made in a low budget, this film has been highly appreciated by the audience as well as the critics. At the same time, veterans of the cinema world had praised it a lot. It has also got a rating of 9.2 on IMDb.
