At one time, the pair of Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai was well-liked. Both worked together in many films including Mohabbatein. However, later their relationship soured. The reason was that Shahrukh had replaced Aishwarya with many films.
Aishwarya had said in an interview that she and Shah Rukh were supposed to work together in the film Chalte Chalte, but suddenly she was dropped from the film without informing. Rani Mukherjee was cast in place of Aishwarya. Later, Shahrukh Khan also apologized to Aishwarya for this.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, in an interview given to Simi Grewal, gave a sharp reaction to Shahrukh for being removed from films. Simi Grewal asked Aishwarya whether she was really shown the way out of many Shah Rukh films.
In response, Aishwarya said, ‘How can I have an answer to this question now? It is definitely that we were going to do some films together, but something happened in between that I was fired from those films. According to reports, Aishwarya was shown a way out of about five films of Shahrukh.
Aishwarya said that she could not believe what happened to her. Taking the matter further, he said, ‘I myself do not know why this happened. I didn’t even go to ask anyone why this was done to me. This is not my habit. If someone does not answer on any topic, it means that he never wants it to happen.
Shahrukh Khan was also questioned on this subject. Then he said, ‘I was personally very sad that Aishwarya could not be a part of the film Chalte Chalte. Me and him are very good friends, we have done many films together. I am very sorry that the matter has reached this level (Aishwarya’s removal from the film).
As a producer, my hands were tied. I was not the only producer of the film. We wanted to finish the film in three-four months. Though we did feel sad for Aishwarya afterwards, we thought this should not have happened.
Some reports also say that Aishwarya was fired from ‘Chalte Chalte’ because of Salman Khan. At that time the relationship between Salman and Aishwarya was very tense. Salman is said to have reached the sets of the film and started shouting loudly. There were also reports that there was a fight between Salman and Shahrukh regarding this matter.
Karan Johar brought Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shah Rukh on the screen once again through his film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. Shah Rukh Khan had a guest appearance in this film. In the film, he was in the role of Aishwarya’s ex-husband. Aishwarya’s glamorous look was seen in this film. The chemistry between her and Ranbir Kapoor was well liked.
