Shankar Mahadevan-Zakir Hussain Won Grammy Award

India has won big at the Grammy Awards this year. The 66th Grammy Awards were held in Los Angeles on Sunday. During this period, singers Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey won many Grammy Awards. At the same time, the dominance of Indian musicians was also seen in the Grammy Awards 2024. Four musicians including singer Shankar Mahadevan and tabla player Zakir Hussain won this award.

Shankar Mahadevan and Zakir Hussain’s band Shakti won the Best Global Music Album award for ‘This Moment’. The Grammys shared the post on X and wrote, ‘Congratulations to the Best Global Music Album winner – ‘This Moment’ Shakti.’ Indian musician and Grammy winner Ricky Cage has congratulated the band by sharing a video of their acceptance speech on stage.

Cage posted the video on his official X account and wrote, ‘Shakti won the Grammy. 4 brilliant Indian musicians won Grammy Awards through this album!! Just amazing. India is shining in every direction. He further wrote, ‘Shankar Mahadevan, Selvaganesh Vinayakram, Ganesh Rajagopalan, Ustad Zakhir Hussain and Ustad Zakhir Hussain won the second Grammy along with the outstanding flute player Rakesh Chaurasia. Fantastic, India won the Grammy.

Shankar Mahadevan in his speech thanked his wife for her constant support. He said, ‘Thank you God, thank you family, friends and India. We are proud of you India. Last but not least, I want to dedicate this award to my wife, to whom every note of my music is dedicated.
