Hollywood New Release ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ has had a great start at the box office. This new film of Warner Bros. and Legendary’s MonsterVerse franchise has received an overwhelming response from the audience. The film earned a record-breaking $10 million during its Thursday night preview screening. This is being considered a good sign for the strong earnings of the first weekend.
This is the highest earning ever from preview screenings of any film in the MonsterVerse. Earlier in the year 2014, ‘Godzilla’ had surprised everyone by collecting 9.3 million dollars. The film earned a whopping $93 million in its first weekend.
In comparison, ‘Kong: Skull Island’, released in 2017, earned $3.7 million in preview screenings before opening to $61 million. At the same time, 2019’s ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ collected $6.3 million from previews. The film collected $48 million on its opening weekend.
