Hollywood Actor Read Bhagwat Geeta To Prepare His Role

Hollywood’s famous director Christopher Nolan’s recent release is ‘Oppenheimer’. In the film, actor Cillian Murphy plays scientist J.J. Robert Oppenheimer played the lead role. In an interview, Cillian mentioned the Bhagavad Gita. The film was released on 11 July at Le Grand Rex in Paris. It will release on July 21 in India and the US. Apart from Cillian, it will also feature actors like Robert Downey Jr. and Emily Blunt.

In an interview to film critic Suchitra Tyagi, Cillian said, “I read the Bhagavad Gita to prepare for the character. I found it very beautiful and inspiring. I think it was a consolation for him (Scientist Oppenheimer), he needed it and it gave him a lot of consolation throughout his life.

After testing the world’s first atomic bomb in 1945, Scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer realized his mistake. Oppenheimer, then a student of Sanskrit, had said a line from the Bhagavad Gita, ‘Now I have become destruction’.

Akshay Kumar also read the Bhagavad Gita to prepare for his role in the 2012 film Oh My God. He played the character of Lord Krishna in the film. The film performed well at the box office. Earlier, Hollywood actor Will Smith has also read Bhagavad Gita. However, he did not do this to prepare for any character. He loves the history and culture of India.

Apart from this, many celebs including Julia Roberts, Sylvester Stallone, Hugh Jackman, Robert Downey, Brad Pitt, Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs have talked about Sanatan Dharma.
