Gadar 2 Collection Did Not Affect Rajinikanth’s Jailer

Read Time:1 Minute, 10 Second

The film Jailor, released on August 10, has collected more than 500 crores worldwide in 10 days. In India, the film has earned 245.9 crores, out of which only in South Belt, the film has earned 134 crores in just 5 days.

Two big films Gadar 2 and OMG-2 were also released on August 11, the very next day of the release of Jailer, but this clash did not affect the film badly. Despite the word of mouth publicity and craze, Gadar 2 is currently lagging behind Rajinikanth’s Jailer with a worldwide collection of 433 crores.

Screen count is the direct reason for the difference seen in the earnings of South and Bollywood films. Screen count means the number of screens the films got to release or the number of screens the film was released on. There are a total of 10,167 single screen theaters in India by 2023, of which the South Belt alone has 6,320 single screens.

When a regional language film is shown in such a large number of theaters in the South, fans of South films come in large numbers to watch the film, which directly affects the collection. Seeing the advantage of South’s audience and theater count, now the trend of Pan India films is also increasing in India. Apart from this, the benefit of more screentime also falls on the collection of the film.
