Read Time:2 Minute, 7 Second

Bollywood Veteran Actor Anupam Kher is one of the most talented actors of Hindi cinema. Apart from acting, he is also known for speaking openly on other issues. He will soon be seen in the film Kaagaz 2. Recently, during a conversation, the actor also shared his views on the farmers’ movement.

The actor said that he has participated in the protests in an individual capacity, but he believes that artistes should not work as activists. The actor’s film Kaagaz 2 is based on the theme of negative impact of demonstrations and rallies. Directed by VK Prakash, the film is about the problems faced by common people due to protests and rallies.

Anupam said, “Actors and people associated with the entertainment world are not considered warriors. I have personally spoken out about everything that has troubled me and suffered the consequences. Because of this I became unpopular among many people, but it does not matter.

At the end of the day, I sleep peacefully with my thoughts intact.” The actor said that the ideal way to resolve issues is dialogue. We are an independent country because of the movement led by Mahatma Gandhi. We are part of the Quit India Movement, Non-cooperation movement is the result, but at that time all the countrymen were together, it was for everyone and not just to help a few people.

In this conversation, while speaking about the farmers’ protest, Anupam said that everyone has the right to protest, but it should not affect the lives of common people. The actor said, “Everyone has the right to freedom of movement, freedom of expression, but no one has the right to cause inconvenience to other people.

This is what is happening in our country at present. I I don’t think farmers across the country will agree with this protest. Farmers are food providers. We are made to feel defensive by saying that we are talking about food providers…I think the taxes we pay are also “They are contributing to the growth of the country. I feel it is not right to make the lives of common people miserable.”

Talking about the farmers’ protest of 2021, Kher also expressed dissatisfaction over the incident that happened at the Red Fort. The actor said that that scene will always haunt him. When the protesters reached the Red Fort, they took out the flag of our country and replaced it with some other flag. I may become unpopular among some people, but I will not sympathize with such people at all.
