Gadar 2 is all set to hit the theaters soon. The special thing is that Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 and Sunny Deol’s film Gadar 2 will clash at the box office on the same day. In such a situation, now Sunny Deol’s on-screen son Utkarsh Sharma has spoken about this clash. He compared the Gadar 2 and OMG 2 clash to the clash between Barbie and Oppenheimer. The actor said that we should always celebrate the clash like it is done in Hollywood movies.

During a conversation with Hindustan Times, Utkarsh was asked about the clash of OMG 2 and Gadar 2. On this Utkarsh said- It is good that both these films are releasing together. It is Akshay sir’s film and we all are his fans ourselves. I am very happy that his censor issue has been resolved now. Such clashes should be welcomed, celebrated. The way Barbie and Oppenheimer came together. It was like a celebration for the audience.

Talking about the first part of Gadar, Utkarsh further said- ‘Gadar and Lagaan were released together. Fans celebrated both the films. There was an audience fair for both the films. The audience is probably missing this for a long time. The cinema fair which used to be held has disappeared for a long time. The aim of the film is to entertain the audience more than controversies or negativity.
Utkarsh further said- I think it is very important to create the same atmosphere in theaters again. Overall it will be better for our industry. Congratulations to the makers of OMG 2 from my side. Akshay Sir is playing the character of Mahadev in the film and as I see, our film is blessed by Mahadev.

Barbie and Oppenheimer were released on the same day, July 21. Both the films were well received worldwide. Not only this, within 2 weeks only in India, both the films have collected more than 100.6 crores.

Talking about Gadar 2, filmmaker Anil Sharma had told Hindustan Times in an interview in 2022 – We have worked with the same cast and characters in the second part of the film as well. The story has also progressed 22 years. My son Utkarsh has grown up from a child to a young man. It will be a new film for the new audience, while it is a sequel for the old ones.
