Sharing a long post on social media, Saira mentioned her bond with Shahrukh. Along with this, she told that Shahrukh was the first person who consoled her after the death of her husband.

Saira wrote, ‘For the first time I saw Shahrukh when many stars met for a function… As soon as I saw him I understood that he was shy and was hesitant in coming forward.. Also I saw that he was exactly like me. Shahenshah looked like Dilip Sahab. I said that if I had a son, he would also be like him.

Saira further wrote, ‘Another time when Shahrukh met me, he humbly bowed before me and asked for blessings. As soon as I placed my hand on his head and ran my fingers through his hair, I again remembered Dilip Sahab.

From that day onwards, whenever Shahrukh met me, he would humbly lower his head and I would give him my blessings. Once I forgot to run my hand through his hair and he immediately said – ‘Today you did not run your hand through my hair.’ I immediately ran my fingers through his hair and completed our familiar ritual.

While sharing another incident, Saira wrote, ‘Apart from being an amazing actor, Shahrukh is also a well-behaved person. Once there was a special program for my company and I wanted Shahrukh to attend it as a guest. However, this seemed almost impossible due to Shahrukh’s busy schedule. Yet, once I called, he was at my door within an hour. I was shocked to see this.

The actress further shared the story related to Dilip Kumar’s demise and wrote, ‘On July 7, when Dilip Sahab fell into deep sleep even after hearing my voice, Shahrukh emerged as a ray of consolation for me. At that moment, his affection for the ‘Kohinoor of Hindustan’ shone through because he was the first person to make me comfortable.

In the end Saira wrote, ‘Shah Rukh’s love for Sahab really says a lot. He got the poster of ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ signed by Saheb and I believe it is kept in his private theatre. This reflects his deep respect and love for the cinematic legends who came before him.
