After settling his legal dispute with actor Shailesh Lodha, now Taarak Mehta Ka oltah Chashmah producer Asit Modi has opened up about the ongoing issue between the two. In an interview given to the media in the past, Asit said that it was wrong for Shailesh to claim complete victory in the case, as the matter was actually settled amicably. In such a situation, it is wrong to claim one’s own victory in the matter.
In fact, sometime back in an interview to Bombay Times, Shailesh had claimed that getting back his dues from the TMKOC producer was like winning a battle for him. Responding to this, Asit told ETimes that Shailesh’s claim of winning the case was false, as the court order clearly stated that it was settled with the consent of both the parties.
Asit told that every artist who gets evicted from the show has to follow a certain process. They also have to sign some documents as proof, which show that the artist has left the show completely. However, Shailesh flatly refused to sign these documents and follow the rules. In such a situation, the matter reached the court, where it was resolved.
Asit further said- ‘We never refused to return the money to Shailesh. Even when he did not agree with the exit document, he was called for a meeting. An offer to hold talks was sent to him. Despite all efforts, Shailesh instead of completing the exit formalities decided to take legal action by approaching the National Company Law Tribunal.
Recently, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame actor Shailesh Lodha won the case against the show’s producer Asit Modi. If reports are to be believed, Modi will now have to pay an amount of Rs 1 crore 5 lakh 84 thousand to Shailesh through demand draft as a settlement. Talking to Bombay Times after this verdict, Lodha said, ‘This fight was never about money. It was a fight for justice and self-respect. I feel I have won the battle and I am happy that the truth has come out. I did not bow down even when anyone bowed down.
Suhail Ramani, operations head of Neela Film Productions, said that Shailesh left the show without any notice. The producer also claimed that in the last 14 years, Shailesh has never had any problem with the show or the makers. In such a situation, his changed behavior while exiting the show left everyone shocked and saddened.
Please tell that Shailesh Lodha had worked in Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah for more than 14 years. He played the lead role in the show. However, he abruptly quit the show in 2022 due to differences with the makers. Shailesh, who has been a part of the show from the beginning, also accused the makers of not returning the money. However, Asit has always denied such allegations.
