Bollywood Actor Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub got into controversies after the web series ‘Tandav’. FIRs were lodged against him in many parts of the country. Now he has openly expressed his opinion about it. Zeeshan said that the Tandav controversy had an impact on his career as well. He also had to wash his hands from some projects. Zeeshan said that he did not have work for 6 months.
In fact, in an episode of the series, Hindu gods and goddesses were shown in a strange way, due to which there was a lot of controversy. FIRs were registered against the makers of Tandav in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
Tandav series was released on 15 January 2021. There were objectionable scenes in the very first episode. In the 17th minute of the first episode, the characters playing Hindu Gods and Goddesses were shown using indecent language.
Similarly, in the 22nd minute of the first episode, some objectionable remarks were heard to incite caste clashes. Apart from this, the man sitting on the post of Prime Minister was shown abusing and drinking alcohol. There was a dispute about all these scenes.
Talking to Lallantop, Zeeshan Ayyub said – Everyone knows what happened after the orgy. Cases were filed against us. Media and social media trials took place. Tension was given, tortured. It was a bad day. Especially 10 to 12 days of onset. Things got better with time but this incident taught me one thing. I would not like to name those people, but those people whom I trusted, betrayed me in the middle. My signed projects were taken away from me.
Zeeshan further said- This incident taught me more things that most of the people in this industry are opportunists. There are very few people who have courage. It was the first time that I had to go to people asking for work.
I contacted Sameer Nair. After that I went to Hansal Mehta. He cast me in the series ‘Scoop’. I had also contacted Zoya Akhtar. I sat at home for 6 months, but it was right for me to some extent. I thought in these 6 months that now I will work only in those films which I would like to do.
The controversy over Tandav had increased so much that the actors had to be given security as well. Security forces also had to be deployed outside the house of Saif Ali Khan, the lead actor of the series.
FIRs were registered against the makers of Tandav in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Only three FIRs were registered in Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow, Shahjahanpur and Greater Noida). The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting also became active in this matter.
