According to Sunny, people had rejected the film at the time of Gadar’s release. However, at the same time people had praised Lagaan, which was released along with Gadar. Jokes were also made about the film in the award show.

However, when the film released it left everyone speechless. Sunny said that Gadar earned around Rs 100 crore, while Lagaan’s collection remained low. Sunny says that it is better not to do what has no equal.

Talking to Times of India, Sunny Deol said – People had no idea about Gadar. He felt that it is an old type of masala film, the songs are old. The so-called cinema experts completely rejected Gadar. I remember the film was made fun of at an award show. However, this did not bother us. After its release, it became the favorite film of the public.

Sunny said that apart from Gadar, the same thing happened with his other film ‘Ghayal’. ‘Ghayal’ and ‘Dil’ clashed at the box office. Sunny said- The film which is better, still you bring it at par with the other film. Do not do what cannot be equaled.

Sunny had recently appeared in The Kapil Sharma Show. He told on the show that Gadar was taken so lightly that no distributor was ready to buy the film. He said- When Gadar was released, we did not know at all that the film would really create Gadar. People used to call it Punjabi film. Many people suggested dubbing it in Hindi. Many distributors even told me that they would not buy the film. Due to this we had to face many problems during the release of the film.

Please tell that Gadar was made in a budget of Rs 19 crore at that time. The film had a net collection of Rs 76.88 crore. While the gross collection was Rs 128.19 crore. If it is added from today’s point of view, then the total figure will be Rs 400 crores.

The Censor Board has sent OMG-2 to the review committee. The Censor Board will decide the future of the film after considering the review committee. This decision has been taken in view of what happened to Adipurush.

The teaser of the film was released on 11 July. In the teaser, Akshay Kumar is seen in the form of Lord Shiva with long hair and ashes on his forehead. Pankaj Tripathi will also be seen in the lead role in the film. The first part OMG was released in 2012. Paresh Rawal was in the lead role in that film.
