Rhea Chakraborty turned Bollywood actress from VJ has turned 31 today. Rhea made her Bollywood debut in the 2013 film Mere Dad Ki Maruti, after which she was a part of films like Sonali Cable, Jalebi. Riya appeared in many films, first having a relationship with Sushant and then being the most discussed after his death. Before Sushant, Rhea Chakraborty was in a relationship with actor Aditya Roy Kapur, in which she was very possessive.
Rhea Chakraborty, who was a part of 6 films and many shows, may never have been included in the top actresses, although she was at number 1 in The Times of India’s list of Most Desirable Women in 2020 after getting embroiled in controversies. Also, Riya is the first actress to start an AI (Artificial Intelligence) company in India.
Rhea Chakraborty was born on 1 July 1992 in Bangalore. Her father Indrajit Chakraborty is Bengali, who is an army doctor by profession, while his Konkani mother Sandhya Chakraborty is a housewife. Rhea also has a younger brother Shouvik. Riya did her early education from the Army School in Ambala. She enrolled in engineering to study engineering, but then she got inclined towards the glamor world.
In 2009, Rhea took part in MTV’s show Teen Diva as a contestant. She did not win the show, but she made a place in the industry by securing the second position. While modeling, Rhea auditioned and got selected to host the MTV show Pepsi MTV Whissapp.
After gaining popularity as a VJ from the first show, Rhea also hosted College Beat and MTV Gone in 60 Seconds. At the same time he decided to act. Although Rhea was studying engineering, but she decided to leave her studies and make a career in acting.
When Yash Raj Productions was looking for a fresh girl face for the 2010 film Band Baaja Baaraat, Rhea Chakraborty also auditioned for the film, though she was not selected. The film later cast Anushka Sharma, who made her debut with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. At the same time, this film proved to be the first film of newcomer Ranveer Singh, which he got through audition.
A year later, Rhea made her acting debut in the 2012 Tamil film Tunega Tunega. A year later, Rhea got a chance to enter Bollywood with the 2013 film Mere Dad Ki Maruti. Huma Qureshi’s brother Saqib Saleem also debuted with this film. Riya next appeared in 2014’s Sonali Cable, which earned her recognition.
Rhea Chakraborty’s name was associated with actor Aditya Roy Kapur after appearing in films. Aditya Roy Kapur also used to be a VJ in MTV channel in 2008. Both of them met there. Aditya also came into films with the 2009 film London Dreams. Both were in a relationship for about 2 years.
In the 2014 film Sonali Cable, Rhea Chakraborty was supposed to kiss the film’s hero Ali Fazal as per the script, but she refused to kiss onscreen. After sometime when she came to know that her boyfriend Aditya Roy Kapur had kissed Shraddha Kapoor in 2013 film Aashiqui 2, she agreed to do the kissing scene as revenge.
Rhea did not get any other film for 3 years after the 2014 film Sonali Cable. Three years later, he got a small role in the film Half Girlfriend, while he also had a cameo in Dobara: See Your Evil. Both these films also remained flop. After Bank Chor, Riya appeared in Mahesh Bhatt’s film Jalebi, whose songs became quite popular. The film was also average.
Rhea got into a relationship with Sushant Singh Rajput after separating from Aditya Roy Kapur. Both had kept their relationship a secret, however, the similar background of their vacation put a stamp on their relationship.
Rhea was in a relationship with Sushant since 2019. Rhea started an artificial intelligence company named Vividrage Rhealityx. For this, he partnered with his younger brothers Shouvik and Sushant.
In December 2019, Rhea and Sushant started living in live-in. There were reports that both were going to get married at the end of 2020, for which their family was also going to come to Mumbai, but in June 2020, the quarrel between the two increased so much that Rhea left Sushant. Sushant committed suicide on 14 June 2020, a week after Riya left home.
On 25 July 2020, Sushant’s father filed a complaint against Rhea Chakraborty in Patna alleging abetment to suicide. Apart from abetting Sushant to suicide, Rhea was also accused of money laundering and drug dealing, due to which she was kept in custody for several days.
Rhea Chakraborty got bail on 7 October 2020. According to the South China Morning Post, India’s media channels gave more coverage to Rhea than Covid 19 and the rape case of a lower caste woman at that time. Many channels had even termed Rhea as a murderer. With great progress in many channels, the anchor himself, as a jury, gave many decisions and presented wrong theories in the case by making them truth.
Sushant’s death may have been declared a suicide in the post-mortem report, although his fans hold his so-called girlfriend Rhea responsible for it. This is the reason why Rhea was constantly receiving death threats on social media. Many people also threatened him with rape. He was even pressurized to commit suicide. 
After the 2018 film Jalebi, Rhea was about to make a comeback with the 2021 film Chehre, although before that Riya got embroiled in controversies. While many people boycotted the film, the makers also kept Rhea’s face missing from the film’s poster to avoid controversies. The film was released, but the film could not show anything special at the box office. Now Rhea is seen as a gang leader in MTV show Roadies.
If reports are to be believed, Rhea Chakraborty is dating Bunty Sajdeh, the owner of Sports Management Company these days. Bunty is the brother of actor Sohail Khan’s ex-wife Seema Sajdeh. Both want to keep this relationship private for the time being.
