Filmmaker Prashant Neel, while talking about his film KGF, said that the films of KGF franchise perform well across the country. He is hopeful that his upcoming Prabhas starrer Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire will also do well across the country. Neil and Yash became nationally famous after the success of KGF Chapter 1, released in 2018. Raveena Tandon and Sanjay Dutt were also seen in lead roles in the second part of the film, KGF: Chapter 2.

Prashant Neel, who made his debut with 2014’s Ugram, said in a conversation about Salaar, ‘I have written a story and I have executed it. I don’t know whether it will be a pan-India film or not. But if it becomes a pan-India film, it’s an absolute bonus for all of us. In the same way as ‘KGF’ got immense success.

Prashant Neel said, ‘Films that are made naturally always perform well. You can’t plan to make a pan India film, you can’t plan and say I am taking these actors from the industry to make it a pan India film. Let us tell you that the story of Prabhas’ Salaar revolves around two friends Deva and Vardha. Apart from Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran also plays an important role. This film is being released in theaters on Friday, 22 December.

He told that this film was started 15 years ago. Prashant Neel said, ‘It was an idea that was in my mind. But this required a huge budget. So, I made my first film ‘Ugram’, then I made ‘KGF’. I was busy with ‘KGF’ for almost eight years. During Covid-19, I narrated this to Prabhas sir and he agreed to do it. He admitted that Prabhas’s last releases Adipurush and Radhe Shyam had a tough performance at the box office. He said that a star can always make a comeback after a hit film.

Prashant Neel said, Prabhas is a big star. He became the biggest star after ‘Baahubali’. People are not going to forget something like this. Stars have always been stars. They have one flop or 20 flops they just need to get one hit. Recently, Shahrukh Khan showed us that a star is always a star, no one can deny that. Let us tell you that Salaar will compete with Shahrukh Khan’s film Dunki at the box office. Dunki is releasing on December 21, a day before Salaar.
