The poster has been launched by the official people of the film on social media on Monday. Jungle, rifle, smoke and Naxal flag are visible in the poster. It is written on the poster – ‘The hidden truth that will bring a storm in the country.’ Bastar is written below it. The makers have announced that the film will be released on 5 April 2024. It has not been decided yet who will be the actors in this film. It is believed that due to being a film of a big producer-director, big actors can be taken in this movie. Local artists will also be taken.
When the film Kerala Story came, assembly elections were going on in Karnataka. Now when Bastar will come, the country will be moving towards the Lok Sabha elections. This is the first time that main stream cinema makers have tried to bring Bastar directly on the big screen. Earlier, film maker Prakash Jha has also brought a film on Naxalism, in which actor Manoj Bajpayee as a Naxalite commander was seen speaking a dialect similar to the Chhattisgarhi dialect. Vivek Agnihotri, who made the Kashmir File, has also made a film on the Naxal problem of Bastar.
The team of producer Vipul Shah and director Sudipto Sen was constantly doing research on Bastar. The film will also tell how this problem has been perpetuated by giving protection to Naxalites. Incidents like the Jhiram incident in Chhattisgarh can also be shown in this film.
