Twitter has removed the blue ticks of verified users from its platform from 12 midnight on April 20. Twitter has said that they have removed blue ticks from the accounts of only those people who did not buy the blue plan.

Because of this, blue ticks have also been removed from the Twitter accounts of many celebrities and leaders like UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Rahul Gandhi, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan.

Amitabh Bachchan wrote in a funny way about giving back the blue tick from Twitter- T 4623 – A twitter brother! Are you listening? Now we have filled the money as well… So, brother, put that blue lotus in front of our name, so that people know that we are the ones.. We kept our hands folded. Of now, when Godva couple got married??

Many celebrities on Twitter are reacting to the removal of blue ticks. Comedian Vir Das, targeting this move of Twitter in a funny way, has written – because now I do not have a blue tick, so if any of my tweets hurt your feelings, then understand that I have not tweeted that tweet. Rather, this is the work of a fake or parody account. And if you like my post, then understand that this is my account.

On Thursday, Twitter removed the legacy blue checkmark from all accounts. Twitter owner Elon Musk had announced this on April 12 itself. Now to add blue tick mark to the account, a monthly blue subscription plan of up to Rs 900 will have to be taken.

The concept of blue tick came on Twitter in 2009. The blue tick was introduced to avoid fake accounts and reduce identity theft. Earlier there was no need for account verification and purchase of Blue Tick. Elon Musk has included Twitter’s Blue Tick in the subscription plan only for premium customers.
