Ashutosh Rana and Renuka Shahane are one of the most popular couples of the Hindi film industry. Both of them got married on 25 May 2001. Today this married couple is living a happy life. However, their love story has been quite interesting in itself.
Today both the actors are celebrating their 23rd wedding anniversary. The couple has two sons, Shauryaman and Satyendra. Both of them have led a successful married life till now. However, there was a time when they felt that their marriage would not last more than two days. Actor Ashutosh Rana had mentioned his love story in an interview.
He had told that he got Renuka Shahane’s number from director Ravi Rai, who had also given him information about talking with her. He had instructed Ashutosh not to call him after 9 pm. However, Ashutosh called at 10 o’clock and both of them talked a lot and then this trend of talking daily without meeting started.
Ashutosh likes poetry a lot, whereas Renuka does not like poetry at all. On this Ashutosh had said that he did not want to lose her. He was afraid that if he proposed to Renuka and she refused, the friendship would also break. He didn’t want to lose him as a friend. That’s why he wrote a poem on love for the first time and recited it to her. After this Renuka also expressed her love for him. Ashutosh had said that both of them did not want to get married earlier. They feared that he would change after marriage.
Once in an old interview, Renuka had told that her relatives felt that her marriage would not last even for a month. Everyone was apprehensive about this marriage because Ashutosh’s family background was completely different. While Renuka was from Maharashtra, Ashutosh was from a small village in Madhya Pradesh. His family was also very big. The actress said that Renuka’s family was worried about whether she would be able to adapt to their culture or not.
This was Renuka Shahane’s second marriage. Before Ashutosh, she was married to Vijay Kenkare. He is a well-known writer and director in the Marathi film industry. This marriage could not last long. Both of them got divorced after some time. Therefore, she had to be very careful before marrying Ashutosh Rana. There was a lot of fear in his mind regarding marriage. They were afraid whether this marriage would last or not. However, Renuka and Ashutosh have proved all the speculations wrong and have been living a happy married life for more than two decades.
