During the promotion of the film, Anushka Sharma revealed that she was apprehensive before reading the script of ‘Sultan’. She felt that she would not get much to do in Salman’s film. In an interview given to Bollywood Hungama in 2016, Anushka was asked what impressed her the most to sign the film?
To this Anushka said- ‘To be honest, before getting the script, I did not know what kind of film it would be. As we all think, well I was also thinking what would be my role in Salman’s film, what would I have to do? I was really scared, though I was hopeful that Aditya Chopra would offer me a good role only.
Anushka further said- Aditya Chopra has known me for a long time, so it was expected that I would get something good. When Ali (Ali Abbas Zafar) heard the script from me, I was very happy. I was really happy doing this character. After the narration, I had an in-depth chat with Ali about the film and learned about my character.
Anushka had further told how people, especially women, liked her character a lot. Anushka said that she was told by many people how some posh aunties started clapping for her dialogues in a multiplex. The actress believes that women of all ages, classes and places can relate to her character. Please tell that Sultan had collected 614.49 crores at the worldwide box-office.
