Akshay Kumar Starrer Mission Raniganj Will Have Heavy VFX

Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film is ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’. This too will have heavy VFX work like Akshay’s previous films ‘Housefull 4’ and ‘Robot 2.O’. Sources related to the film have confirmed this.

He told that there are approximately 1300 VFX shots in the film. For the last two and a half months, the makers have been getting work done on its VFX and computer graphics from many companies. These companies have been given a deadline of September 22 to complete the work.

According to sources related to the film, ‘The total footage of 45 minutes of the film had reached the VFX company about two and a half months ago. Its shooting was completed last year itself.This footage is sent to the VFX company only after a lot of work is done at the editing level.

Sources say that the average VFX budget of this footage of about 45 minutes is around Rs 6-8 crores. Director Tinu Suresh Desai and producer Jackky Bhagnani keep visiting the VFX company from time to time to see how the work on the film is going. 90 percent of the VFX work of the film has been completed. Its editing and coloring work is to be completed by 22nd September, as it is to be released on 6th October. If the VFX company does not complete the work on time, the makers also impose a penalty on the company.

The makers had taken around 1300 shots in which Akshay was to be shown in the beard look. The company has finalized 900 shots out of these. Akshay will be seen in beard look in the entire film. The teaser of the film ‘Mission Raniganj – The Great Bharat Rescue’ has been released recently. The film is based on the true incident of mine collapse and subsequent flooding in Raniganj Coal Field (West Bengal) on 13 November 1989.

In this accident, a group of laborers were trapped in the mine 350 feet below the ground. At that time, Jaswant Singh Gill was a mining engineer. After this accident, without caring for his own life, he saved the lives of 65 laborers in the pouring rain for six hours continuously.

For his bravery, Javasant was awarded the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Medal by the then President of India R Venkatraman in 1991. Akshay will be seen in the role of Engineer Jaswant in the film. Ravi Kishan also plays an important role in the film, who will be seen trapped in a mine.
