Read Time:1 Minute, 4 Second

Punjab Police has sent a notice to the producer, director and actor of Bollywood film Yaariyan-2. He has been asked to appear in Amritsar on Tuesday and present his case. Police station E-Division has registered a case against actor Nijan Jaffrey, director Vinay Sapru and film producer Bhushan Kumar on the complaint of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has raised objection on the song and teaser of the film. SGPC says that the actor is wearing a saber in this film, while his hair is cut. The actor is seen wearing the Sikh Kakar (symbol of the Sikh faith) kirpan in a very objectionable manner, which is not acceptable.

SGPC has asked to remove this song from YouTube. He says that T-Series should remove it with immediate effect. If any other platform is used to publish this video song with the above objectionable scenes, then it should also be removed, but despite this no action was taken from the filmmakers.

The film’s directors had claimed that the cast was not wearing a ‘kirpan’ but a ‘khukri’ (a curved knife) and that they had no intention of hurting or disrespecting anyone’s religious sentiments. After this, SGPC had said that they were not satisfied with this absurd explanation.
