Vivek Agnihotri’s Appearance In Delhi High Court Today

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri to appear in court today in contempt of court case. This was ordered by the Delhi High Court. Vivek has currently received an order to apologize for his tweets against Odisha High Court Chief Justice S Muralidhar.

Actually, S Muralidhar, who was the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court then, had given bail to Gautam Navlakha, the main accused in the Bhima Koregaon case. Vivek had made some tweets in protest against this. However, he deleted those tweets after being found in contempt of court. Even after this, the court had ordered him to appear on March 16, 2023.

Vivek Agnihotri did not appear on the court even after the order of the court. Then the court issued a statement saying, ‘We are asking him to appear because he is in contempt of the court. What is the problem in expressing personal remorse to them. Remorse cannot be expressed through a single affidavit. The court then ordered him to appear on April 10.

Vivek Agnihotri accused Justice S Muralidhar of favoritism and giving relief to activist Gautam Navlakha in the Bhima Koregaon violence case. House arrest and transit remand of Gautam Navlakha was canceled by the court. Regarding this, Vivek Agnihotri had made a controversial comment on Justice S Muralidhar.

Vivek Agnihotri wrote that Justice S Muralidhar’s wife Usha Ramanathan is a close friend of Gautam Navlakha. On this tweet of Vivek, he was found guilty of contempt of court. For information, let us tell you that Justice S Muralidhar was the Justice of the Delhi High Court from 2006 to 2020. At present he is the Chief Justice of Odisha High Court.
