Parineeti Chopra is counted among the multi-talented stars of Bollywood. Pari has recently announced her intention to pursue acting as well as music. Now the actress has shared a big update on her upcoming project. Parineeti’s recent announcement has taken the excitement of her fans to the seventh sky.
Parineeti Chopra has revealed that she will sing around 15 songs for her next film ‘Chamkila’ directed by Imtiaz Ali and starring Diljit Dosanjh. ‘Chamkila’ is the biopic of controversial Punjabi folk singer Amar Singh Chamkila, who was known for his rebellious attitude. Parineeti will play the role of his wife and fellow singer Amarjot Kaur, while Diljeet will be seen in the role of ‘Chamkila’.
Before this, Parineeti has sung songs for her films ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’ and ‘Kesari’. The actress has clarified that one of the main reasons for signing ‘Chamkila’ was the opportunity to showcase her musical talent. Parineeti said, ‘One of the main reasons for me doing this film was that I was getting to sing about 15 songs in it. During this film, my co-star Diljit heard me singing and asked me to perform live. Everyone around me used to tell me that I can sing on stage.
During the conversation, Parineeti also talked about building two careers as well as starting her new life as a married woman. She said, ‘I want to pursue two careers at the same time. It is an exciting challenge to accept. I will work hard. I’m evolving as a musician and learning more about the world of concerts. I don’t want to ruin it by thinking too much. I’m just going to figure it out. Personally, my mindset is different from other actors. All these things are just a part of my life, not my whole life.
The music of the film ‘Chamkila’ has been composed by AR Rahman, who has also composed music for Imtiaz Ali’s previous films ‘Rockstar’, ‘Highway’ and ‘Tamasha’.
