Bollywood Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan have completed 37 years of marriage. On April 21, on the occasion of the wedding anniversary, Soni Razdan wished Mahesh Bhatt an anniversary through a social media post.
Posting on social media on the occasion of the anniversary, Soni wrote – This is our story! One day suddenly I got a call from a friend. He wanted me to meet Mahesh Bhatt once…ok leave it now…its a very long story. another time. The main point is that we met, we fell in love and now we are together. Happy anniversary baby! We have come here in no time.
Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan married in 1986. They have two children – Alia and Shaheen Bhatt. Mahesh Bhatt first met Soni in 1984 on the sets of the film Saaransh. Soni Razdan and Anupam Kher were in the lead roles in this film.
In an interview given to Simi Grewal, Mahesh had told that Soni had helped him during the most difficult times of his life. He told that he had a very bad addiction to drinking alcohol. He said- My condition had become so bad that whatever I went close to, it used to get spoiled. At that time Sony took care of me.
Simi Grewal also questioned Soni Razdan during the interview. She asked Soni- When you married Mahesh Bhatt, how was his family’s reaction to you? On this Soni said- Yes, there was some resentment for some time. But, then things started changing. After some time you understand that there is no harm to anyone because of your existence.
On her relationship with Mahesh and Kiran’s children Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt, Soni said- It would be wrong to say that I am Pooja and Rahul’s stepmother. Those children have such a wonderful mother that they never needed me.
Simi asked Mahesh Bhatt whether his children were happy with Soni joining the family. Responding to this, Mahesh said- Yes, both my children were very angry with us. For him, Soni was the woman who took his father away from him.
