Because we belong to a Sikh family, my family members expressed displeasure over my childishness.
At that time I did not know whether I would become an actor or act when I grow up. Everything just happened on its own. When I worked with Shahrukh and Amitabh for the first time in Mohabbatein, I was very nervous. Apart from this, Jimmy also talked about his upcoming new series ‘Siyaah’ on Audible platform.
How was the experience of working with Audible?
Jimmy said, ‘For the first time I am going to work with a platform which is only audio best series. I liked the story of this series very much. I said yes only after hearing the story. In this I am playing the role of Kabir, who is a writer.’ I think I will work more with this platform in the future.

We got to learn a lot from this film.
Sanjay Dutt was initially going to play my role in Munna Bhai MBBS.
He told that ‘The character I have played in Munna Bhai MBBS. Earlier he was going to do Sanjay Dutt. Later he was selected for the lead role of the film. My film Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai was being released at that time. Director Sanjay Gadhvi introduced me to Rajkumar Hirani. When Raju Hirani narrated the script to me, I immediately said yes to this role. That’s how I got this role.’ Jimmy said that working with Sanju Baba was very fun.
Those who cannot do anything give the excuse of nepotism – Jimmy Shergill
Talking on nepotism, Jimmy Sharegil said that it is everywhere but only the same people talk about nepotism. Those who cannot do anything. I was also an outsider but the industry has given me everything. He said that I have many nephews, nieces and relatives who have been struggling a lot to work in acting since long. If we could get work through nepotism, I would be the first one to get them work.
When Jimmy was asked how he protects himself from the controversies happening in the industry? On this he said that anyway I stay away from everything in the industry. Maybe that’s why I stay away from controversy. I like a very simple life, so I pay more attention to my family and work than other things.
