Recently, Genelia Deshmukh told during an interview that she was initially asked by many film producers and directors to change her name. Talking to Siddharth Kanan, Genelia said that she was advised many times to change her name to some other name because her name is not easy to pronounce. Genelia said that she never paid attention to this instruction and made her mark in the industry only on the surface of her name.
Talking to Siddharth Kanan, Genelia said- When I was new in the industry, people told me to change my name. I don’t know what was the reason but they believed that it is not easy for people to pronounce my name. He must have had trouble speaking Genelia. But, I said I will not change my name. Today everyone knows me by my name and everyone speaks Genelia very easily, so I am glad that I did not change my name.
When Siddharth asked Genelia if she was also suggested a particular name to change her name, Genelia told that she was advised to keep the name Jeena. Genelia Deshmukh made her Bollywood debut in 2003 with the film Tujhe Meri Kasam.
In this film, she shared the screen with Ritesh Deshmukh. Genelia-Riteish made their relationship public only after getting engaged. Their marriage has completed 10 years. During the promotion of the film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, released in 2008, the discussion of Genelia-Riteish’s affair was in full swing. But, neither of them ever opened up about their relationship status before the engagement. Genelia has now given the reason for this decision.
She said- We did not talk about it at that time because we ourselves were not sure about our relationship and future. We didn’t know what was going to happen next, whether we live together or not and we didn’t want gossip about it.
Manav Kaul will also be seen alongside Genelia in the film Trial Period. This film is based on the innocent wish of a child. In the film, a child insists on taking his father on rent for a few days. Genelia is playing the role of the child’s mother in the film.
