People think that from the beginning I was at this stage, but it is not so. Many people don’t even know that I never thought of becoming an actress.

In the beginning of my career, I was part of the crowd in the dance group. Then started working as an actress after dancer, assistant choreographer and modeling. I have completed every step of this journey with the support of my family and my own hard work. There was no one who easily gifted me this stardom. I have worked very hard for this success.

As an actress, Daisy Shah has been active in the industry for the last 12 years. She made her acting debut in the 2011 Kannada film Bodyguard. Although he got big recognition from Salman Khan’s film Jai Ho. She has also been a part of films like Race-3 and Hate Story-3. She is currently seen as a contestant in the 13th season of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi.

I was born in a Gujarati family in Mumbai. I did my early studies in Dombivali, Mumbai, then we had to shift to Malad due to my father’s work. Childhood passed normally. Father used to consider me less as a daughter, more as a son. That’s why I didn’t underestimate myself compared to boys.

I was always inclined towards dance. I had joined dance groups since college days. In the beginning, she was seen only in the crowd. When I started getting offers for more work, I thought why only father should take the responsibility of the house. I talked to him about this. I told him that I was getting a job and wanted to help him financially. After much persuasion, he gave me permission to work.

There was also a time when I shot continuously for 15 days without sleeping. These days the urge of work was such that I remember that I probably did not take even a single leave. Papa died in 2007 due to a heart attack. After this the entire responsibility of the family fell on me. I was the only one left earning. After my father left, I became more sensible and handled all the responsibilities very well.

My first earning was only 300 rupees. I gave it to my mother only. Even today, whatever I earn, I give it to my mother. When there is a need, I ask from them only. Ganesh Acharya noticed me when I was working as a background dancer. Impressed by my dance, he included me in his dancing group. After working here for some time, I became an assistant choreographer. Then I also tried my hand at modeling. Also worked in print ads.

Talking about the journey of acting, I never thought of becoming an actress. Nor was there any plan. While doing modelling, I started getting offers for films. I needed work and money, that’s why I entered this field. I have never refused any work.

Salman had earlier offered me the Hindi version of Bodyguard. I was offered the role of Kareena Kapoor’s best friend, but I refused due to some work. However, it is a matter of regret that I did not do Salman. After that he offered me the film Jai Ho.

Salman Khan is my mentor. He is always there for me. When I am in trouble, I go to him only. I consider myself lucky to have Salman Khan in my life, who showed me the way by holding my finger. When some trouble is going to come in my life, then they alert me in advance. I consider myself lucky that he is in my life. Before signing some projects, I consider it necessary to take their opinion.

I have been associated with the industry for 24 years. I consider myself lucky that even after all these years, I did not face the casting couch. The reason is also that he (Salman Khan) is in my life, who warns me about trouble before it comes.

Those who say that they are victims of casting couch, on this I feel that all these things cannot happen without consent. It depends on the choice of the person in front whether he wants to get out of this situation or wants to give up. No one can force anyone.

In such a long career, I have also received many rejections. Rejection is a part of this journey. Whenever I am disappointed, I motivate myself that if I have achieved this position today with 300 rupees, then God must have thought something good for me in the coming times.

Talking about upcoming projects, one or two films are going to be announced this week. The post production work of the film Mystery of the Tattoo is almost done. This too will be released soon.
