Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty and Sunil Shetty starrer film Dhadkan has completed 23 years of its release. Recently, director Dharmesh while talking to Bollywood Hungama has told how Sunil Shetty’s character Dev becomes rich in just three years in the film. He said that Dev’s character in the film was inspired by the American novel The Great Gatsby.
On this occasion, Shilpa Shetty has shared the motion poster of the film on social media. Sharing the poster, he wrote- Thank you so much for giving so much love to Anjali, Dev and Ram over the years.
In the film, Shilpa Shetty played the role of a girl from a rich family who falls in love with a boy from a lower middle class background. But, she gets married to a rich businessman. Akshay Kumar played the role of a businessman in the film. Now Dharmesh Darshan has revealed that Dev’s character in the film was inspired by American novelist F Scott Fitzgerald’s book The Great Gatsby.
The director said- In this book, the character of Gatsby suddenly gets up and sits among big people, gives big parties and makes his place among them. While people keep thinking that what does Gatsby do? No one knows anything about him, just like that is the character of Dev.
In the film, Anjali’s father refuses to accept her and Dev’s relationship. Anjali gets married to Ram. Anjali remains unhappy with this marriage but gradually starts accepting this relationship. Meanwhile Dev becomes a millionaire and tries to win Anjali back. This creates turmoil in Anjali-Ram’s married life. Critics appreciated the depth of Shilpa Shetty’s character in the film.
Soon Shilpa Shetty is going to make her OTT debut with Rohit Shetty’s series Indian Police Force. Vivek Oberoi and Siddharth Malhotra will also be seen in this series along with Shilpa. Apart from this, Shilpa will also be seen in the film KD – The Devil in the role of Satyavati along with V Ravichandran and Sanjay Dutt.
