Voting is underway for the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024. Today voters will cast their votes on a total of 49 seats in eight states and union territories of the country. These include Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Odisha, Jharkhand and two union territories – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Many big faces from the film industry will also be seen voting today. However, many artistes have already reached the polling booth early in the morning and cast their votes.
Akshay Kumar casts his vote in Juhu. During this, while talking to the media, he said that I have cast my vote keeping in mind that my India should remain strong. He said that I think the voting will be good and many people will come to vote.
Film actor and director Farhan Akhtar and his sister Zoya Akhtar arrived early in the morning to cast their votes. Both of them pressed the EVM button at the polling station in Bandra. It is known that many artists had appealed to the people to vote in the past and today, seeing the pictures of film stars casting their votes, it is expected that enthusiasm towards voting will be seen among the common people too.
Actor Rajkumar Rao, who is gaining fame with the films ‘Srikanth’ and ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’, also reached the polling station early in the morning. He fulfilled his duty as a citizen by casting his vote at Gyan Kendra High School. Apart from Akshay Kumar, Rajkumar Rao, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar, actress Sanya Malhotra also appeared on the polling booth. Sanya also cast her vote at Gyan Kendra High School.
