These days Samantha Ruth Prabhu is busy preparing for her upcoming film Shakuntalam. Her film is ready for release on 17 February. Meanwhile, on January 5, Samantha has shared a photo on social media, in which she is seen dubbing for Shakuntalam. This is Samantha’s first film after the release of Yashoda, in which she is working during her treatment for myositis.

Samantha has also shared a very motivational caption along with the photo. Samantha wrote in the post- ‘The cure for this madness, sorrow and loss in the world is art. I will go on my own journey home through this. Please tell that Shakuntalam is a romantic drama film written and directed by Gunasekhar. The film is based on the play Shakuntala by renowned poet and playwright Kalidas. Apart from Samantha, South actors Dev Mohan, Gautami, Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla will be seen in supporting roles.

For many days there were reports that Samantha Ruth Prabhu is going to take a break from films due to her deteriorating health. Meanwhile, there were reports that he has also backed out from the Varun Dhawan starrer Citadel web series due to myositis. But now a source related to Samantha has revealed that the reports of her backing out from films are false.

On the work front, Samantha will soon be seen in the romantic drama film Kushi opposite Vijay Deverakonda. This film has been directed by Shiva Naravane. The film was earlier scheduled to release in December, but during an interview, Vijay told that the film will be released in February 2023. Apart from this, on February 17, Samantha’s film Shakuntalam is also ready to knock at the box office. The film is adapted from Kalidasa’s famous Sanskrit play Shakuntalam.
