Sidharth Malhotra’s Mission Majnu Is Based On A Raw Agent

Bollywood actors Sidharth Malhotra, Rashmika Mandanna starrer film ‘Mission Majnu’ will stream on OTT platform on 20 January. Its first plus point is being told as Raw Agent story and second as music. There are only three songs in this film. It is directed by Shantanu Bagchi and produced by Amar Bhutala, Garima Mehta, Ronnie Screwvala.

When we talk about Majnu, then people connect with love and love. But in this film, the Majnu of the country is being talked about. He feels proud of his country, we are trying to tell about him. The working title of the film has also been ‘Mission Majnu’. Even from the time we thought of the film, the name of the film was kept as ‘Mission Majnu’.

Normally, in a film, four to five heroes go to him, only then a talk is made with someone. But we narrated the story to Siddharth in the initial days itself, when the script was still being written. Siddharth liked the story. His interest, commitment and contribution was there from the scripting stage. We started with Siddharth. We were lucky that we got the hero we wanted. As far as Rashmika Mandanna is concerned. Siddharth and I have been talking about casting a new girl for a long time so that the film gets freshness.

Making the film was more fun than a challenge, as we were making a 1970 film in today’s time frame. Means the hero’s clothes, sets, music etc. have been kept from that era. From long collar shirts to bell bottom pants etc. have been used in the costume. We have tried that while watching the film, the audience feels that they have gone back to 1970.

Three tracks will be seen playing simultaneously in the film. One will be the mission of Tariq (Sidharth Malhotra), which is the track of a RAW agent, the second will be the love story of Tariq and Nasreen (Rashmika Mandanna) and the third political background will also be seen running together. The relationship between India and Pakistan at that time has a different track.

Today they release this film on Netflix, then it will be released in 200 countries on the same day. This is also a big opportunity for us. This story has to take us far and wide because the sacrifice made by our soldiers in uniform should reach the maximum number of people. If this story comes on Netflix, then the Indian audience will definitely watch it and the audience outside India will also watch it. I understand that people will start watching the film from January 18, so the word of mouth publicity till Republic Day will have a good effect.
