Sameer Wankhede Will Appear Before CBI Today

Sameer Wankhede, who was the zonal officer of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), is appearing before the CBI today. He will have to reach the CBI office in BKC, Mumbai at 11 am. He will be questioned regarding the Aryan Khan case and matters related to corruption.

The CBI alleges that Sameer had demanded Rs 25 crore to release Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan. Apart from this, the agency also alleged that Sameer did not inform his seniors about the case. The CBI had called Sameer for questioning on May 18, but he did not turn up. He had filed a writ petition in the Delhi High Court against the summons of CBI, but he did not get much relief from there. The Delhi High Court advised Sameer to approach the Bombay High Court.

Sameer then approached the Bombay High Court. On Friday, May 19, the Bombay High Court directed the CBI not to take any action on Wankhede till May 22. However, the court said in its instructions that Sameer will have to appear before the CBI on May 20 i.e. at 11 am today.
