Read Time:2 Minute, 2 Second

These days Naseeruddin Shah is busy promoting his upcoming web series Taj Divided By Blood. During this, he talked about the comparison between Hindi and South films. He says that in comparison to Hindi, South people work hard while making films.

According to Naseeruddin, South’s films may be good to watch, but their work is always better and spotless. Expressing displeasure, he has said that Hindi films have always made fun of all religions.

A video of Naseeruddin Shah is going viral in which he says that Hindi films are still stuck on the same conservative nature. He said, ‘People of Sikh, Christian and Parsi religion are always made fun of in Hindi films. It has become a national custom to laugh at the suffering of others.

We feel hurt when someone makes fun of us, but we don’t think at all while making fun of others. We have been making films for 100 years, and in these 100 years we make only those films in which the religion of others is being made fun of.

According to Naseeruddin Shah, films from the Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Telugu industries are more relatable than Hindi films. Significantly, in recent years, films of big Bollywood stars like Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar have lagged behind small budget films of South like Kantara. RRR and KGF 2 have shown the mirror to Bollywood movies.

Naseeruddin Shah has also objected to the fact that the Mughals were called invaders and destroyers. He said, ‘The Mughals did not come here to loot. They came here to make it their home and that is what they did. How can his contribution be forgotten. Why do we look at the Red Fort with so much respect when it was built by a Mughal only. We should not defame him again and again.
