Makers Of Adipurush Wrote An Apology Letter To The Mayor Of Kathmandu

Recently, the Mayor of Kathmandu, Balen Shah, objected to a dialogue in the film ‘Adipurush’ and banned it in the capital of Nepal. After this, the makers of ‘Adipurush’ wrote an apology letter to Balen Shah, which is now viral on social media.

In this letter, the makers told about their intention behind the dialogue describing Sita as the daughter of India. Along with the Om Raut directed film ‘Adipurush’, other Indian films to be released in Kathmandu and Pokhara, Nepal have also been banned.

In this letter, the makers wrote, ‘If we have hurt the sentiments of the people of Nepal in any way, then first of all we want to apologies. We never intentionally hurt anyone. Whereas, in reference to the dialogue describing Sita as the daughter of India, the makers wrote, ‘This dialogue spoken in the film has nothing to do with the birthplace of Sita Mata.

As an Indian, it is most important for us to respect women from all over the world. We request you to watch the film in its artistic form. Also request to make it accessible to as many viewers as possible.

Earlier, Balen Shah protested against Sita being described as the daughter of India in the film and demanded the makers to change the dialogue of the film. However, when the makers did not make any changes, they banned the film on Sunday.

On the other hand, the effect of controversies and negative mouth publicity has started showing on Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer film ‘Adipurush’. After a decent first weekend collection, the film’s collection dropped by 65% on Monday. The film has collected only 35 crores on the fourth day. The film is being criticized for its poor VFX and controversial dialogues.
