Jewelery worth Rs 5 lakh stolen from Salman Khan’s sister Arpita Khan Sharma’s house. When Arpita lodged a complaint with the police, the thief turned out to be a person from her own house. In the investigation of the police, it was found that the name of the person who committed the theft is Sandeep Hegde. He works as a house help at Arpita’s house.
Sandeep had stolen a diamond ear ring (earrings) worth 5 lakhs. Arpita said in her complaint that the theft took place from her house on the night of 16 May. Acting swiftly, the police recovered the ear ring from Sandeep’s house the same night.
Arpita told the police that she had kept the jewel in the make-up tray. The senior police officer of Khar police had formed a team to investigate the matter. Investigation revealed that Sandeep, who had been working at Arpita’s house for the last 4 months, had eloped on the night of May 16 after stealing the jewellery.
Apart from Sandeep, 11 other househelps work in Arpita’s house. The police searched him and immediately nabbed him. Diamond ornaments were also recovered from his house. The police have registered a case against him under IPC section 381 (theft).
