Bollywood Director Dharmesh Darshan has talked about working with Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor in ‘Haan Maine Bhi Pyar Kiya’. The director told that both of them broke up during the shooting of this film.He also told that Amitabh Bachchan had made negative comments about the film, whereas Jaya Bachchan liked the film very much.
In an interview given to Lehren Retro, Dharmesh said, the film Haan Maine Bhi Pyar Kiya is the only film in which Abhishek and Karishma worked together for the first time. When both of them were cast in the film, both were in a relationship. But their relationship ended during the shooting. Due to this, Karishma was very worried.
The director said- Earlier I had worked with Karishma in Raja Hindustani. During the shooting of that film, she used to be very happy, completely focused on work. But due to personal problems, she remained lost during the shooting of ‘Haan Maine Bhi Pyar Kiya’. I was not a psychiatrist to bring about reconciliation between the two. Yes, I definitely listened to both versions.
Director Dharmesh further said that Amitabh Bachchan had described the story line of the film as old. On the other hand, Jaya Bachchan liked this film very much. This is a picture of that event, when for the first time Jaya Bachchan confirmed Abhishek and Karisma’s relationship in front of the public.
The love story of Karisma Kapoor and Abhishek happened when the actor had not even debuted in films. The closeness of both of them increased during the marriage of Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter Shweta. Both of them got engaged in the year 2002. After the engagement, during a function, Jaya Bachchan had introduced Karisma Kapoor as her daughter-in-law in front of the media, but the surprising thing is that Jaya herself became the reason for the break of this relationship.
Karishma and Abhishek were going to get married after a few months of engagement but in the meantime Jaya Bachchan put a condition. Jaya’s condition was that her daughter-in-law would not work in films after marriage, but Karishma and her mother Babita did not accept this. This was the reason that despite their engagement, their relationship broke up.
The very next year after the engagement was broken in 2002, Karisma Kapoor married businessman Sanjay Kapoor in 2003. Karishma was Sanjay’s second wife. From this marriage, both have two children, Samaira and Kiyan. After a few years of marriage, fights started between Karishma and Sanjay due to which both started living separately in 2010. The divorce case of both of them continued in the court for three years, after which both of them finally got divorce in the year 2016.
