Bollywood Producer Firoz Nadiadwala is accused of not paying a fee of Rs 4 crore to film maker Anees Bazmee. This amount was related to ‘Welcome Back’. That amount has not been paid yet. In such a situation, quoting Anees Bazmee, Cine Workers Union Federation has sent a letter to Firoz and Jio Studios chief Jyoti Deshpande. Federation General Secretary Ashok Dubey has confirmed this.

Ashok Dubey said, ‘The amount was Rs 4 crore, but Firoz Nadiadwala cited lack of funds. Then the settlement amount became Rs 2 crore. It was said that Rs 2 crore would be given after the release of Welcome Back. After the release, Firoz Nadiadwala sent two checks of Rs 1 crore each. But when the Federation went to the bank to encash the cheque, Firoz issued stop payment on both the cheques.

Ashok further explains, ‘Since then till now the payment has not been cleared. The matter is in Andheri court. Also, the stand of the Federation is clear that until the fees are not paid, no technical crew of the Federation will work in any of Firoz’s films.

We are continuously maintaining this point. We had also written a letter at that time when Heraferi 3 was announced. We also sent letters to all the artists. However, no reply came from anyone. Ashok further said- Now that Welcome to the Jungle has come, this time also we have informed them about the information. We have also sent a letter to the same effect to Jyoti Deshpande, head of Jio Studios, that she is working with a person to whom payment is outstanding.

As for the question of FIR against Firoz, that call is of Anees Bazmee. But at present the matter is still going on in the court. On the other hand, no reply was yet to come from Firoz Nadiadwala on this entire matter.
