Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has given a statement that Lord Ram was a Nepali, not an Indian. He also said that he was born in a village close to Kathmandu, not in Ayodhya. Prime Minister was speaking at a cultural event at his residence. He also accused India of cultural repression and infiltration. He said that Nepal’s contribution to science was always ignored.
Nepal Prime Minister also said, We have always believed that we gave Sita to Rajkumar Ram. But, we also gave Lord Rama. We gave Ram from Ayodhya, but not from India. He said that Ayodhya was actually Thori, a small village of Birganj, 135 km from Kathmandu. We have been culturally repressed and the facts have been shattered.
Nepal Prime Minister Oli statement comes at a time when there is a border dispute between India and Nepal. Nepal has approved its new political map. In this, the Indian territory on the border with Tibet, China and Nepal, Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura have been described as part of Nepal where India had strongly objected to Nepal’s actions and said without naming China that Nepal is doing so at the behest of others.
According to reports prime minister Oli has made this statement when he is alone in his party NCP. The party leaders are demanding his resignation. But Oli is not ready to resign. His main rival Pushp Kamal Dahal aka Prachanda Oli is not ready to accept the resignation. There have been 6 rounds of talks between the two leaders. However, there is no hope of resolving the issue.
