Bollywood Filmmaker Nishikant Kamat was suffering from a disease called liver cirrhosis. Due to this, on July 31, he was admitted to AIG Hospital in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. He had complained of jaundice and abdominal pain. After investigation, he was diagnosed with chronic liver disease and some other infections. On August 13, in an official statement released by the hospital, he was described as out of danger. However, he was still under the supervision of doctors in the ICU. On Monday, the hospital issued an official statement informing him of his demise.
Kamat made his directorial debut in 2005 with the Marathi film Dombivali Fast. The film was one of the biggest hit Marathi films of that year. The film also received the National Award for Best Feature Film Marathi.
He has also acted in films like Hath Aane De, Satya Aath Gharat (Marathi), Rocky Handsome, Phuge, Daddy, Julie-2, Bhavesh Joshi. Of these, he played the opposite negative role of John Abraham in his 2016 film Rocky Handsome. He was last seen in Harshvardhan Kapoor starrer film Bhavesh Joshi.
