Bollywood Director Shekhar Kapur was about to make a film about Sushant Singh Rajput. But due to the withdrawal of Yash Raj Productions, this film could not be made. Shekhar Kapoor, who has worked with Sushant for two years on Paani, has said a lot about this film. Shekhar has written through a tweet – If God wishes, ‘water’ will definitely be made one day, if this happens, it will be dedicated to Sushant.
If you want to journey with the Gods, or your creativity, you have to walk each step in devotion. In humility. God willing #Paani will get made one day. If it does, I will dedicate it to Sushant. But it has to be made with partners that walk in humility, not in arrogance. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 pic.twitter.com/pWzTt04IbK

After Sushant’s death, Shekhar had said in his statement- ‘Paani was my dream project which has been incomplete for the last 10 years till now. After Sushant’s departure, hardly anyone can replace him. During the year 2012-13, Aditya Chopra and I met at Yash Raj Films to make this 150 million mega budget film and it was decided that from 2014 the film will be made under Yash Raj’s banner. We had high expectations from this film. This mega budget film was to be completed in 3 to 4 years. In pre-production, Yash Raj had spent about Rs. 5 to 7 crores and we also blocked Sushant’s dates.
Shekhar had said- ‘We gradually became very close friends during our meetings with the film and started talking about everything from personal life to quantum physics. He used to ask every small thing about his role. He had also left many films for this project.
