Bollywood Singer Alka Yagnik recently told that she has sung many such double meaning songs in her career, the meaning of which she did not know during recording. She was completely ignorant of the meaning of the songs. She came to know about this from her friends, after which she started paying attention to the lyrics of the songs.
Recalling the old days of the music industry, Alka told that there was a time when double meaning songs were prevalent in the music industry. During the conversation, Alka said- ‘Believe it or not, I have sung many songs like that, without understanding what I am singing.’
Alka further said- ‘I often used to sing songs about which I thought it would be great.’ When I used to tell about the song to my friends, they used to explain that I was not understanding the real meaning of the song. ‘ Alka told that later she started looking at the lyrics. Whenever a new song used to come, she used to first ask to send the song lyrics. Will sing the song only after checking it.
Referring to her popular song ‘Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai’, Alka said that she did not know the opening lyrics of the song till the recording, as the opening line was sung by Ila Arun. Alka said- ‘I was called a day before the recording. My line was choli mein dil hai mera, chunri mein dil hai mera, which I recorded. I came to know the initial lyrics of the song ‘Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai’ when I met Ila.
