The box-office failure of Vijay Deverakonda starrer ‘Liger’ has shocked the makers. Vijay was also very confident about the film, even he challenged the people who boycotted the film. Now according to the recent reports, Vijay has decided to financially support the makers.
According to media reports, the film was made in a budget of more than 100 crores. However, Liger has not been able to do well at the box-office. According to the report of News18, the actor has decided to give more than 6 crores to the makers. After the film’s flop, Vijay has decided to support Charmi Kaur and other co-producers. Vijay Deverakonda is going to do his next project with Jana Gana Mana director Puri Jagannath. Liger’s failure at the box-office may affect his next film as well.
According to reports, the budget of Jana Gana Mana has been reduced slightly in view of the failure of Liger. Vijay and Puri Jagannath have decided not to take their salary for the film. The decision was reportedly taken by both of them to make up for the loss caused by Liger’s failure at the box office. If Jana Gana Mana proves to be successful at the box-office, Vijay will share some of the profits.
Manoj Desai, director of Famous Maratha Temple and Gaiety Galaxy, had mocked Vijay for mocking his ideas and boycott culture a few days back. Taking a jibe at the actor, he said that due to his comment, the advance booking of the film has been dented. Vijay met Manoj to clear this misunderstanding. Confirming this, Manoj had said, “Yes, he had come to meet me to clear the misunderstanding and now everything is clear.”
After the release of Liger, Desai expressed his displeasure at Vijay, saying, “You have got this fat, that if you want to see, then look or not look. Look at the condition of Taapsee Pannu, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar. Leave the theater and work in Tamil Telugu OTT. It is because of your comment that Liger has suffered so much.”
