Actress Bhumi Pednekar believes that men are also constantly working to bridge the gap between women and men. Bhumi said that, she is waiting for the day when the actress will get the same fees as the actors. Bhumi has done films giving strong messages to women like ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’, ‘Sand ki Aankh’, ‘Toilet’.
Bhumi feels the positive changes happening towards women in society. The actress in the talk with Hindustan Times tells that, things are getting better now, but I think it is not enough. It is not only about films, there is no presence of women in powerful places in the world.
She said that this gap is very large. But it is ending slowly. The actress says that in the kind of people I work with, men are also working to bridge the gap between women and men.
Regarding getting different money for actors and actresses in the industry, she said, this is all nonsense. This is a business. Tomorrow when I come to the situation that I can attract the audience on my own, I will get the same fees as men. The actress said that, I am waiting for the day when men and women will get equal fees.
