Bollywood Actor Deepak Tijori, who was seen in films like ‘Aashiqui’, ‘Khiladi’ and ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’, has accused film maker Mohit Suri of fraud. In an interview, Deepak said that when he was going to debut in film direction, Mohit had stolen his idea and narrated it to producer Mahesh Bhatt. Director Anurag Basu called him and informed him about this.
When Deepak was asked, he told that the film was Zehar which was released in 2005. Mohit Suri made his directorial debut with this Emraan Hashmi starrer. In an interview given to Bollywood Thikana, Tijori said, ‘I wanted to work with Mahesh Bhatt as a director. I went to tell him the story of a film. He was on the treadmill.
After listening to my story for 15-20 minutes, he said – ‘I did not enjoy it, forget this story.’ Tijori told that basically the idea was to make an official remake of the Denzel Washington starrer film ‘Out of Time’.
Tijori further said, ‘I came out of Bhatt Saheb’s room. Mohit Suri was sitting there. I told him to tell Bhatt Saheb to watch this film. Its remake could be very good. However, after 4 days I got a call from Anurag Basu and he told that Bhatt Saheb saw this film. He liked it and is planning to launch Mohit Suri with the remake of this film.
Reacting to this, Tijori said, ‘I got so angry, I mean the people of the house. Meaning this was the second chance of my life. The first fraud of my second career and such a big fraud. Since then till today he (Mohit) has not come in front of me and said that he has cheated me.
Tijori further said, ”Zehar’, released in 2005, was Mohit’s first film but it was my idea. But once in a while he would call, wouldn’t he? If you tell me that I have done this… what difference does it make?
After this, when I was working with actress Udita Goswami (now Mohit’s wife) in the film ‘Fox’, I wanted to tell her with which man you were having an affair. But finally they got married and I am happy for them. Suri and Udita Goswami got married in 2013. ‘Zehar’, released in 2005, was produced by Mahesh Bhatt. Emraan Hashmi, Shamita Shetty and Udita Goswami were in lead roles in the film.
On the work front, Deepak made his debut in 1990 with the film ‘Aashiqui’. After this he played the role of the lead actor’s friend in many superhit films. However, when his career as a lead actor did not work out, he entered the direction field. Deepak has so far directed films like ‘Oops’, ‘Fareb’, ‘Khamosh Khauf Ki Raat’, ‘Tom Dick and Harry’, ‘Fox’ and ‘Do Lafzon Ki Kahani’.
