Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer film ‘Adipurush’ where there is fierce controversy on one hand and on the other hand this film is making new records every day at the box office. After earning 140 crores worldwide on the first day and 100 crores on the second day, now on the third day this film has again collected 100 crores. Along with this, the film has created history by earning Rs 340 crores on the first weekend.
Adipurush has become the second film after Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Pathan’ to enter the 300 crore club in just 3 days. However, even after entering this club, the film could not break the record of first weekend collection of ‘Pathan’. While ‘Pathan’ collected a worldwide collection of Rs 351 crore in the first weekend, ‘Adipurush’ lagged behind by Rs 11 crore.
The film lagged behind ‘Pathan’ in terms of first weekend collection but it definitely broke the record of ‘KGF 2’. KGF 2 earned 268.63 crores in its first weekend. Surprisingly, the film is breaking box office collection records despite all the controversies.
On one hand, where the film is breaking records at the box office, on the other hand, controversies are going on in different cities. Activists of a Hindu organization in Mumbai’s Nalasopara stopped the show of the film on Sunday evening. On the other hand, Hinduist organizations took out a rally in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur on Sunday evening. Apart from this, members of the Bharatiya Kisan Union protested against the film at Hazratganj Kotwali in Lucknow and burnt effigies of director Om Raut and writer Manoj Muntashir.
On the other hand, trade expert Taran Ardash believes that the jump in the film’s earnings is being seen due to its tremendous advance booking. According to him, the reason for this advance booking was that the subject of the film is Ramayana, which every citizen likes to watch.
